My "BFF" Cecily has a very popular blog and is kinda famous on Twitter. So brands want to work with her in various ways whenever they can. Lingerie.com is one of them, who let her pick out one of their sexy Halloween costumes so I could take photos of her modeling it. We're both getting some free bras out of the deal, is all, but it sure was fun. :-)
I also took some new head shots for Cecily that she can use in press kits and as an avatar online.
I had the
pleasure of two worlds colliding last week when an old friend hired me
professionally to take his head shots.
A. Michael Blanche (MSS LCSW) is a
clinical social worker specializing in the area of addiction and dual
diagnosis. He most often works with adolescents and their families. He provides
"comprehensive treatment for individuals seeking revitalization through a
lifetime of recovery." As someone who knew Mike when he was finishing his
undergrad degree and then saw him choose to pursue a Masters, it is no surprise
to me that he is doing well and helping countless people with the work he does
in private sessions and consulting services, and with public speaking. He's a
good guy and always has been. It was an honor that he trusted me to take his
picture when he hated being in front of the camera (I do too, which is why I am
the photographer).

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting scholarship winners Sarah-Jane Littleford and Joshua Bennett for The Pennsylvania Gazette.
Ms. Littleford was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University and intends to earn a master’s degree in the Nature, Society and Environmental Policy program there.
Mr. Bennett was awarded the Marshall Scholarship for graduate study in the United Kingdom next year and plans on attending the University of Warwick, where he will be pursuing an MA in Theatre and Performance Studies.
Our main challenge was finding a time when we could all be at the same place at the same time, but we did it. They are both lovely people and I wish them the very best!
I've been wrapped up in holiday prep and work both photographic and writing, so I'm behind on posting recent news.
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking new head shots as well as some office shots for a company in Bethesda, MD called 5am Solutions. The CEO, Brent Gendleman, happens to be a friend of mine from college days, so a visit with him and his family rounded out the trip.
It was a great shoot. The company was recently chosen by The Washingtonian as one of the 50 best places to work, and it is easy to see that the employees (at every level) are happy.
